Welcome to Arbor Montessori School!
Arbor is a unique school. Arbor was founded in 1970, growing from a small one-room class to four primary classes, five elementary classes and a middle school. Arbor has two campuses: La Vista (2998 La Vista Road), and Emory (1886 North Decatur Road.) We are an AMI Accredited school. As an independent school, Arbor follows a traditional school year (usually August through May) calendar. Arbor Montessori School Inc. is a non-profit private school directed by a Board of Trustees composed of parents, teachers, and administrators. Although the two Emory primary classrooms are physically separated from the Central Campus on LaVista Road, Arbor is one school, maintaining the highest standards of Montessori education.
Arbor’s combination of programs, facilities, location, and a dedicated community of parents and staff makes Arbor a unique school. Arbor has a rich history and a vibrant future. We are one of the largest Montessori schools in the southeast and continue to be the flagship of Montessori education in Atlanta. Montessori schools are recognized and respected all over the world for creating a learning environment that fosters initiative, self-esteem, and the joy of learning. Our mission is to develop the unique capabilities of each child and instill these qualities: an enthusiasm for learning, the courage to tackle challenging tasks, and respect and compassion for all living things.
