Arbor Grads Wed!

Lauren Meacham and Joshua Klehr were married in January in Atlanta. They both graduated from Arbor Montessori School, The Paideia School, and Emory University. Lauren received a BA in mathematics from Emory and is now enrolled in the Masters of Actuarial Science Program at Georgia State. Josh is a professional poker player; in high school he discovered a new theorem about triangles, called the Klehr-Bliss Theorem. The couple now lives in Decatur.

Four talented Arbor graduates participated in the USA Ultimate frisbee club championships in a four day tournament in Sarasota, Florida at the end of October. Pictured are Miranda Roth (Seattle), Greg Swanson (Atlanta), Noah Eden (Wash. D.C.), and Robert Runner (Atlanta).
Miranda’s Seattle team, Riot, has won the North American championship several times while last year Greg and Robert’s Atlanta team, Chain Lightning, won its first North American championship after 25 years of competition. At this year’s tournament Noah’s Truck Stop team played one of its best games of the season when they defeated last year’s champion, Chain Lightning, in pool play.
Another Arbor graduate, Kyle Weisbrod, is on the Board of Directors of USA Ultimate, which governs the sport and organizes national tournaments for three age divisions – high school, college, and adults, and four different team divisions – women, men, mixed, and masters. Kyle played on Brown University’s Ultimate team and has served as a coach for many teams, including the USA Juniors Team that won the World Championship in Finland in 2004. Greg Swanson was a member of that World Championship team.
