Middle School Happenings
Students of the 2007-08 middle school class began evaluating and redesigning the businesses of the microeconomy with a focus on food: its production, acquisition, preparation, and consumption in keeping with practices that are ecologically and economically sound.
What is a “microeconomy”? It is the interconnected endeavors (businesses, garden, community work) that allow us to produce and exchange goods and to make choices based on business, social, and economic considerations.
We are honored to present to you the students responsible for guiding the work in the businesses and the garden:
Garden Manager: Emma Taylor
Garden Assistant Manager: Vivian McCann
Pizza Day Managers: Evan Hynes and Madison Mobley
Coffee House Managers: Adriana Ridings, Anastasia Schultz and Eric Gramlich
Market Manages: Cole Flournoy and Madison Hafitz
Pizza Day
The oldest of the Middle School businesses provides pizza for lunch on scheduled days throughout the year .In an extended taste test of eight competitors, the team decided that Papa John's supplies the "taste" they feel best suits their market. Parents can order pizza for their children by printing out the forms from one of the links below and sending the form(s) in with their payment. The two forms are: primary and lower elementary or upper elementary and middle school.
The Pizza Day forms are always due approximately a week and a half before the actual Pizza Day. All proceeds go to the Middle School microeconomy. Thank you for participating!

Lunch in a Sack
The class of 2007-8 has decided to discontinue Lunch in a Sack. The students evaluated current demand and have chosen to focus on alternative business opportunities.
